This is the personal site of Andreas Gerolemou (82 Degrees), based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It collects very little, sets no cookies, and never sells or shares your data. Here is exactly what happens when you visit.
Who is responsible
Andreas Gerolemou, trading as 82 Degrees, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 53688767. For any privacy question, email andreas@82deg.com.
Analytics (cookieless)
I use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that I self-host on my own server in the EU. It does not use cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not track you across other websites. It records only aggregate, anonymous usage:
- pages viewed and the site that referred you
- approximate country, derived from your IP address (the IP itself is not stored)
- device type, browser, operating system, screen size, and language
Visitors are counted with a temporary identifier generated from a one-way hash that resets every day, so individuals cannot be identified or followed over time. No names, emails, or other personal details are collected by analytics.
Legal basis: legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, in understanding at an aggregate level how the site is used. Because no cookies or device storage are involved, no consent banner is required under the Dutch Telecommunications Act.
Fonts
The site uses two open-source typefaces, Fraunces and Hanken Grotesk, both served directly from this site rather than from a third party. No font request is made to Google or any other external service, so loading a page shares nothing with anyone outside this site.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel, which processes standard technical data such as your IP address and request details in its server logs. This is necessary to deliver the site securely and reliably.
What I do not do
- no advertising or marketing trackers
- no cookies and nothing stored on your device
- no selling or sharing of personal data
- no cross-site tracking or profiling
Links to other sites
The site links out to profiles such as LinkedIn and email, and to external stores and third-party sites. Once you follow those links, the privacy practices of those services apply, not this policy.
Data retention
Aggregate analytics are kept only for as long as they stay useful for understanding site traffic. Because the data is anonymous and holds no personal identifiers, it carries minimal privacy risk.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data, to object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). Because the analytics here are anonymous, there is usually no personal data tied to you that can be retrieved, but you are welcome to contact me at andreas@82deg.com with any question.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
